Christians and Peace loving Ugandans from Kampala Archdiocese have been called to embrace the peace month of September by praying and promoting love and peace in the community.

This has been sounded by the Vicar General of Kampala Msgr. Charles Kasibante during a press conference held at Lubaga Cathedral ahead of the launch of the peace month of September in the Catholic Church.

The peace month will be flagged-off on September 1st 2023 at Ggaba Landing Site with a general clean up, followed by the Holy Mass at Lubaga Cathedral that will be led by the Archbishop of Kampala Paul Ssemogerere at 1pm as the second program of the event to pray for peace.

Rev. Fr Emmanuel Sita, the Director of Justice and Peace Department of Kampala Archdiocese, presented the program containing the activities that will be carried out in the whole month beginning with the general clean up and during the mass they will start the nine days Novena that will last from 1st to 9th September praying for peace.

The peace month will run under the theme “No one can be saved alone, Let Us Embark together on the Paths of Peace”.

Parish Priests, Christians and peace loving Ugandans have been urged to organize prayers and activities aimed at promoting peace in the country.

The United Nations (UN) General Assembly declared September 21 as an International Day of Peace (IDP) observed world over to strengthen the ideas of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.
