A 42-year-old woman has been sentenced to seven years in jail for aggravated child trafficking after sending her boss’ daughter into a sexual relationship.

The woman identified as Rose Nsungwa allegedly used her position as a housemaid to connect her brother to the 15-year-old girl, who was a pupil at Victory Primary School for a love relationship. She also made arrangements to transport the girl from their home along Prince Charles Drive in Kololo to Fort Portal where the said brother was staying at the time.

It is alleged that Nsungwa’s brother sent 60,000 Shillings via mobile money to cover transport costs for the girl who left the home on March 12, 2021, and went to Fort Portal aboard Link Bus.

Upon arrival, the accused’s brother only identified as Tom picked the girl from the bus park and stayed with her for four days while engaging her in sexual intercourse.

The girl’s grandmother reported the case of a missing child thereafter, and according to the Prosecution, Nsungwa alerted her brother that the girl was being looked for.

Tom gave her 30, 000 Shillings to return to Kampala and he disappeared. Stuck, in unknown territory, the girl called her father who picked her up from Fort Portal.

Records show that the victim later narrated the story to her father and on March 24, 2021, she was examined, Subsequently, Nsungwa was arrested and arraigned before the City Hall Court and later committed to the International Crimes Division.

This afternoon Justice Richard Wejuli Wabwire of the International Crimes Division of the High Court in Kampala sentenced Nsungwa for Seven years in prison after a plea bargain agreement with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions represented by State Attorney Joseph Kyomuhendo.
