The Prime Minister Dr.Ruhakana Rugunda has lashed at politicians who compare the current regime to that of Iddi Amini saying such utterances tantamount to an abuse of the freedom of speech brought by the ruling NRM government.

While responding to questions raised by the Member of Parliament for kyadondo East Robert Ssentamu kyagulanyi who tasked government to explain the reasons behind murder and torturing of the supporters of people power.

Kyagulanyi made reference to the two city lawyers who were recently kidnapped; counsel Patrick Mugisha and James Muliira and later the unclear death of People Power members an artiste Michael Alinda aka Ziggy Wine and Ssekamwa Hussein who is alleged to have been knocked by a police car.

He said that there is increasing cases of murder and torture of innocent Ugandans in the country questioning whether the current government human rights record is better than the past governments.

This was during the prime minister’s question time for members of parliament in a sitting chaired by the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga .

The Prime Minister Dr.Ruhakana Rugunda said that Mp Robert kyagulanyi should not compare the human rights record abuse of the government and the past regime of Idi Amin and immediately added that government will take action against any person taking law in their hand including security agents.
