The Archbishop of Kampala Rt. Rev. Paul Ssemogerere has hailed the services of the religious men and women serving within Kampala Archdiocese who converged at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral Lubaga to celebrate the day of the Consecrated life.

The day is normally celebrated on February 2nd but the Archdiocese of Kampala extended it to February 6th, with a note from Archbishop Ssemogerere that consecrated life demands total dedication guided by God to leave earthly desires to serve others as a religious.

For the Christians Bishop Ssemogerere reminded them of true faith inspite of the existing challenges in life. He said Christians life has to face the cross like Jesus Christ and through courage, prayer and hope all is overcame.

Archbishop Ssemogerere has also challenged those in authority to ensure observance of the human rights and freedom because right to live is inherent no one grants it. And one lives freely without intimidation, torture, abuse or killed.

He said the Judiciary that is supposed to be the sanctity of Justice must be seen and proved exercising justice in an independent manner.
