The Ministry of Health has continued to warn the people working and leaving in Kampala Metropolitan to be extra vigilant against the spread of Ebola outbreak following the confirmation of 15 new cases in the region

Among the 15 new cases of Ebola in Kampala Metropolitan, 11 of them are from Rubaga division and one from Makindye division in Kampala while three are from Nansana and Seguku in Wakiso district.

While opening a media orientation on the Ebola outbreak in Kampala today, the Director General Health Services in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Henry Mwebesa said that the cases were contacts from Kassanda and Mubende districts that came in before the two districts which were recently put under lockdown.

He adds that the cases include among others seven family members of a fatal case from Masanafu in Rubaga division who passed on in Mulago Hospital and one health worker who managed him in a private clinic together with his wife from Seguku.

Emmanuel Ainebyona, the Health Ministry Spokesperson noted that though the chances of locking down Kampala are still very minimal, there is need of extra vigilance among the public to avoid the spread of the Ebola epidemic.
