The Ministry of Health has embarked on renovating Busolwe General Hospital in a campaign to boost health service delivery in Butalejja district and the entire Eastern region.

The renovation exercise is expected to last for two years after signing a contract with Excel Construction Limited the project contractor.

A total sum of 7.3 million USD approximately 28billion shillings has been sidelined to cater for the project that also aims at having additional water works in the hospital, construction of more patient wards, operating theatres and also cater for more required equipment.

Dr. Diana Atwine, the Permanent Secretary for the Health Ministry while signing the contract with the project contractor at the ministry today said the hospital will have about a hundred bed capacity and the construction will affect service delivery.

The project was affected by the Covid-19

Recently, Kawolo General Hospital in Buikwe district was refurbished through a similar arrangement.
