Four directors of a labour recruitment firm in the country have been charged with human trafficking after one of the ladies they took to Saudi Arabia had her kidney removed.

Nile Treasure Gate Company reportedly recruited Judith Nakintu who was mistreated by her employer for several months and finally repatriated, whereupon it was alleged that she had undergone an unidentified surgery while in Saudi Arabia and was missing a kidney.

Nakintu’s family alleges that Nile Treasure Gate Company initially supported them in contacting her while she was abroad but later cut off contact.

It is reported that the company wrote to Nakintu’s lawyers, defending themselves about the allegations.

Now, Agnes Igoye, the Deputy National Coordinator Prevention of Trafficking in Persons says that the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has preferred charges related to human trafficking against the four directors of Nile Treasure Company Limited including Abubaker Kato, Muhammad Mariam, Salma Muhammad and Ali Hassan.
