Dr. Anthony Ekwaro Obuku, the former President of the Uganda Medical Association-UMA who consistently raised his voice for the plight of medical workers says he wants to use all the energy that is left in his body to fight for the improvement of the welfare of all workers across the country.

Dr. Obuku is well remembered for acting a like a thorn in the flesh of the government during his tenure to the extent of ever being mentioned by President Museveni for over demanding of increasing the salaries and wages of medical workers.

Addressing the media at the Mulago Nurses Union Building on Thursday, Dr. Obuku mentioned is political party affiliation the ‘Workers’ Interest Party’ saying he wants to bring together all the parties because workers belong there.

Dr. Obuku is running as an independent for the election as workers MP’s following his nomination by the Electoral Commission. The Special Interest Groups elections are scheduled for January 17th and 18th, 2021.
