FDC nominate Nyanjura for KCCA Speakership race

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has released a list five councilors nominated to stand as the party flag bearers for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Speakership and Divisional Deputy Speakership in the coming elections.

KCCA is expected to hold an election on March 25, 2020 where they will elect a speaker who will accord the KCCA amendment act 2019, chair the KCCA council sessions among other duties.

Addressing a weekly press conference at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi along Entebbe road, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the party Secretary General announced that the Makerere University Councilor Doreen Nyanjura will be the FDC flag bearer for KCCA speakership race.

FDC also nominated Doreen Sabuka for the KCCA Deputy Speaker, Sharifah Nakitende for Lubaga Division Speaker, Robert Asiimwe Nakawa Division Deputy Speaker and Henry Mpiima for Lubaga Division Deputy Speaker.

Meanwhile, FDC has threatened to sue government over gazetting the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Amendment Act 2019 that they claim was not passed by the parliament.

Nandala adds that the speed at which the amendments are implemented shows something unlawfully done.
