The chairpersons of the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) have petitioned the party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat to discipline the National chairman Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa and other two top leaders for contravening with the leadership.

In their joint petition, other top leadership wished to be punished is Salaam Musumba, the Vice Chairperson Eastern Region and Roland Mugume Kaginda the Vice Chairperson Western over misuse of power and failure to fulfill their obligations.

They are blaming the three for violating the National council resolutions of the party structure elections, failure to support implementation of the decisions of the national council regarding the report of the special elders committee and failure to attend meetings with the working committee of the party.

This was in their petition signed by 113 district FDC chairpersons and read by the Masaka City party Chairperson Joseph Senzoga before the Party Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Pauline Nanyanzi during a meeting held at the FDC party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.

The FDC chairpersons want the party National chairman to cancel his planned extra ordinary meeting scheduled for September 19th 2023 within 48hrs since it’s illegal and contradicts with the national executive committee meeting scheduled for October 6th, 2023.

Senzoga notes once Birigwa fails to adhere to their demand within the stipulated time, they will direct the party president to exercise his powers within article 28(3) (b) (iii) that grants the president to recommend a disciplinary action against any member who fails in his duties and absconds from party business and meeting without any reasonable excuse.
