The biological family of the late Supreme Court Judge Stella Arach-Amoko has petitioned the Judiciary contesting the burial of the deceased in Adjumani District.

In a petition dated 19th June 2023 and received by the Office of the Chief Justice, the Judiciary Chief Registrar and the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Judiciary, the said family wants the deceased to be buried at a place where her father was buried and that’s in Nebbi district.

The petitioners include; Christine Oyok a biological sister, Godfrey Picho a brother, Annette Yossa a biological daughter, Emmanuel Komakech a biological son and the Ragem elders among others.

They have raised some grounds which include that the deceased orally expressed her wish to be buried next to her father’s final resting place.

They further say that they were guided by the Ragem leaders that the deceased is a granddaughter of Rwot Ragem making her stand above an ordinary princess and this requires cultural rituals that need to be performed at her burial place in Nebbi which can never be done in Adjumani.

Apparently, the burial for the deceased is set to take place on 23rd June 2023 at Una Central Village, Pachara Sub County in Adjumani District at the home of her husband; Ambassador James Idule Amoko.

Lady Justice Arach-Amoko died last Saturday at Nakasero hospital.
