Uganda prisons services has received equipment worthy 1.2billon shillings from European Union (EU), Foreign affairs Ministry of Netherlands and UN Offices on Crime and drugs, to fight COVID-19.

 

The Equipment include  40 beds,80 blankets , 16 water tanks,3750 bars of soap,32 mobile phones,  computers, video  conferencing sets, 201 sanitaizers and 80 bed sheets worth 1.2 billion shillings.

 

Frank Baine the prisons spokesman told the press today at the Uganda media center that the equipment was timely and will go a long way to help the in the fight against COVID-19 within the prisons service amongst prisoners and prison officers since they are too affected by the Pandemic.

 

Baine adds that they are going to be distributed in 5 main centers in Mbale, Gulu, Mbarara, Jinja and Kampala to ensure administering of justice.
