The East African Legislative Assembly – EALA Speaker Martin Ngoga has paid tribute to the fallen former speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanya.

Ngoga was accompanied by few Uganda’s EALA members after whom they met the new speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among.

Ngoga praised the work of the late Oulanyah saying his death wasn’t a loss to only Uganda but to the entire East African region.

He added that he was so much awaiting to work with the late especially in the speakers’ bureau to share his experience and knowledge.

He has also congratulated and appreciated the smooth method used to elect the new Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa last Friday at Kololo Independence Ground.

However, upon receiving and welcoming the delegation of EALA, the Speaker Anita Among promised to work with them in harmony.

The body of Jacob Oulanyah, the former Speaker of the 11th Parliament, is expected to be flown into the country by Ethiopian Airlines on Friday, this week.

President Museveni last week announced that 56-year-old Oulanyah, who was also the Omoro County MP, had died in United States where he was taken ill in February.
