The Democratic Party (DP) has asked President Yoweri Museveni to expeditiously sign the Anti-Homosexuality Bill into a law without listening to foreign countries’ threats.

Last week, Parliament unanimously passed the Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2023 that will see anyone engaging in acts of homosexuality facing 20 years in jail.

Addressing the media at their party headquarters at city house in Kampala today, the DP Vice President for Buganda Region, George Fred Kagimu said that the president shouldn’t listen from the whites but to only consider the nature of this country.

Kagimu says that it’s high time for Uganda to be determined and take a step forward to independently build its economy without considering the foreign support.

He however hailed parliament for unanimously passing the bill amidst threats from the promoters of same-sex relationship.
