Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has warned heads of government aided schools against registering privately sponsored candidates as government sponsored candidates.

The Director of Examination Nangosya Mike Masikye, says this is a fraudulent practice which causes financial loss to government.

Masikye adds that as has been the case, government will pay the registration fees for all the candidates sponsored under any of the 3 universal education programs of UPE,USE and UPOLET so parents should report to nearly police if they are asked money.

Primary Leaving Examination candidates pay Ugx 34000, Uganda Certificate of Education (UEC) pay Ugx 164,000 and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) pay Ugx 186000 and for candidates and this applys to private candidates.

Masikye disclosed any head of an examination centre or school director that will be found indulging in this practice, shall pay twice the amount that has been defrauded.
