The woman member of parliament for  Masaka district Hon. Mary Babirye Kabanda has pledged loyalty to her Democratic Party even when all her colleagues defect to other political parties.

While picking nomination forms to contest in the party primaries for the Masaka city woman parliamentary seat and for the party treasurer at the National Executive committee at the Democratic Party headquarters in Kampala Kabanda noted that she will tirelessly work for her party to make it stronger.

On the defections of her fellow 11 members of parliament to National Unity Platform Kabanda has advised them to return to their mother party in case they feel uncomfortable where they are .

Others that have picked forms to contest for the parliamentary seats include Eng.Richard Ssebamala for Bukoto Central ,Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbide for Nyendo Mukungwe constituency in Masaka city ,Nsubuga Ronald for Busiro south ,Opus Stanley for Toroma county in katakwi district ,Hon. Deogratious Kiyingi for Bukomansimbi south among others .

The acting returning officer, Democratic Party electoral commission Martin Wakooli noted that picking of nomination forms for various parliamentary posts and the National executive committee members will be concluded on 1st September and the delegates’ conference is expected to start from 10th to 12th of next month.
