The Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has commissioned a building called Kathleen Park Refugee Multipurpose Hall to accommodate refugees at the Mazzolidi House Nsambya.

The building that has been constructed by the Religious Congregation of the Apostles of Jesus is having different sections where refugees will be acquiring catechetical teachings, development training and hospitality among others.

In his homily mass of opening the building, Archbishop Ssemogerere noted that his office is meant to host and take care of the refugees and other Ugandan underprivileged but they end-up becoming limited due to financial constraints.

He says that by having such structures put by the Institute of the Apostles of Jesus and other Catholic missions, the gap gets bridged.

The Regional Superior of the Apostles of Jesus, Rev. Fr John Mary Mooka says that the mission has been lacking a well prepared and designated place where they could accommodate and provide support to underprivileged especially refugees from the neighboring countries like Rwanda, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo among others who mainly flock Mazzolidi house for help.

He adds that with this infrastructure, a number of refugees will be hosted and supported spiritually and physically.

The function was also graced by Justice Phillip Odoch of the High Court, the managing director Radio Sapientia Fr Eustachius Lwemalika among others.
