Buganda Kingdom has renewed its partnership with the Telecommunication giants, Airtel Uganda that would see the Kingdom’s owned K2 telecom subscribers enjoy full access to Airtel’s range of services.

In 2018, both telecom companies entered into an agreement that would see K2 customers integrated into the Airtel fold and would use the prefixes 708 and 709.

Accordingly, the new three year deal will see all Airtel customers access Airtel K2 services which had been previously limited to Airtel–K2 customers on the 0708 and 0709 prefixes.

The Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga renewed the partnership with Airtel Uganda dubbed “Airtel K2 Ejjudde” in a new three year contract and he asked the subjects to embrace Airtel K2 Ejjudde such that the Kingdom gets funds to run its activities.

Mayiga while addressing people at the function at Bulange-Mengo gardens on Thursday morning said that Buganda kingdom faces financial challenges hence calling on the Kabaka’s subjects to support the venture so that in turn they ease the Kingdom’s work.

Meanwhile the Airtel Uganda Managing Director Monaj Murali has thanked Buganda Kingdom for deciding to work with their telecom which is convenient and affordable to all kinds of people; the poor and rich, the urban and those in rural areas for their social economic development.
