Bishop Zziwa to issue guidelines for Catholic Church

The Chairman Uganda Episcopal Conference Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Anthony Zziwa is set to deliver the Catholic Church’s guidelines to be followed by both clergy and Christians during mass sacraments and other prayers to prevent the spread of the deadly COVID-19 that is caused by Coronavirus.

The guidelines will be broadcasted live on Radio Sapientia 94.4fm on Thursday March 19, 2020 at midday.

Last week, the Archbishop of Church of Uganda Most Rev. Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu issued a letter of guidelines calling on the clergy and Christians to make wise choices to keep health, practice good hygiene that could prevent them from Coronavirus infection.

According to the Inter Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) guidelines issued to the congregation, religious leaders are restricted from touching congregants when blessing them, baptizing and officiating marriages.

World over, the current confirmed cases for COVID-19 are over 191,900 and 7,343 deaths with 80,347 recoveries.
