The Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has challenged Christians and all Ugandans to seek for humility and God’s providence to fight sin.

Archbishop Ssemogerere says like Zacharius in the holy scriptures who was wicked, Ugandans are full of corruption, greed, deceit, anger, murders, adultery and criminality of all nature that taint humanity before God.

He says Zacharius accepted his inequity and repented a virtue which all Ugandans must seek for.

He has encouraged Christians to seek for their daily needs, support and guidance from God all the time not only during the time of trials and tribulation.

Archbishop Ssemogerere said this during the celebration of the 56th Archdiocesan day that is marked every last Sunday of October and it was his first time to celebrate such a day in full capacity as the Archbishop of Kampala since he took canonical possession of the Archdiocese in January 2022.

The Eucharistic celebration was led by the Papal Nuncio to Uganda Archbishop Luigi Bianco, who first carried out the right of investiture or presented the Pallium to the Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere.

A pallium is an ecclesiastical vestment in the Catholic Church, originally peculiar to the pope, but for many centuries bestowed by the Holy See upon metropolitans and primates as a symbol of their conferred jurisdictional authorities, and still remains a papal emblem.

Bishops present Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba, of Masaka, Christopher Kakooza Bishop of Lugazi and Emeritus Bishop of Lugazi Matthias Ssekamanya. Minister of state for higher education John Chrysostom Muyingo represented the central government and Minister for Information in Buganda Government Ow’ekitibwa Noa Kiyimba among others.
