The fears to get teachers when schools resume after spending 6 months without teaching, will never exist since teaching is a calling to service than only a means of earning a living.

According to an Educationist Dr. Henry Busuulwa who is also the Chairman Education Board in Lugazi diocese says teachers who started jobs for livelihood were wise for a period of no job since March 20th when schools closed however if they went to teaching as a calling they will go back and educate children of this nation.

Dr. Busuulwa however says counseling and guidance is important before they resume work because; they may easily make mistakes after a long period of not being in the profession.

This is after President Museveni announced on Sunday that At least 1.2 million learners out of 15 million school goers are to resume studies on October 15, 2020 after spending 6 months in a forced holiday due to the outbreak of Covid-19 restrictions.

Candidates in classes from Primary Seven, S4, S6, finalists in tertiary institutions and Universities are the ones to go to school with strict observance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the in their respective schools.

Dr. Busuulwa says the National Council for higher education and National Curriculum Development center and ministry of education have to do a lot in guiding schools to bridge the gaps in their operations.
