Members of Parliament on the Democratic Party (DP) ticket have called for a unification of all opposition political parties to counter the NRM party strategy of weakening other parties.

Addressing journalists at parliament, DP members who included the Mityana South MP Richard Lumu, Bukoto Central MP Richard Ssebamala and Buikwe South MP Dr Michael Lulume Bayiga said that if opposition parties do not wakeup to act against the NRM invasion, soon the multiparty politics might come to an end.

The fear comes as FDC is currently facing internal fights over money alleged to have come from NRM party camp.

Lumu has also asked the DP leaders and members to shun the so-called cooperation Agreement between President Yoweri Museveni and the party President Norbert Mao thanksgiving ceremony scheduled on Saturday in Gulu, describing this cooperation as opportunistic and selfish.

Meanwhile, Buikwe South MP Dr Lulume Bayiga has called on all DP leaders and members to attend prayers organized at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kampala on Saturday instead of going to Gulu where they intend to be welcomed as new converts for the NRM party.
