At least 69 passengers have cheated death after a bus they were travelling in from Kampala to Mbarara overturned near Lukaya Weigh Bridge on Masaka -Kampala highway.
The incident occurred at about 10am after which terrified passengers broke windows to escape.
All the 69 passengers who were on board, escaped unhurt.
According to witnesses, the bus which was moving at a normal speed would have skidded off the highway due to a wet surface following a morning downpour.
Both the driver and conductor took off immediately after the accident.
The ill-fated bus Registration Number UAY 097-5 belongs to Perfect Coaches Company.
Southern Regional Police Spokesperson, Lameck Kigozi, said they are investigating what could have caused the accident. Police have towed the bus to Lukaya Police Station.
