About 3800 Ugandans die in road accidents every year due to indiscipline according to police report.

 

According to the statistics from Uganda police, during holiday season Data from the traffic directorate indicates that there was an average of 14 fatalities in 2020 on the road everyday in December.

 

This was revealed by KMP traffic commander Rogers Nsereko Kawuma while receiving road signage donation worth 50 million from Vivo Energy “Tweddeko” campaign a head of the Easter celebration.

 

Kawuma says reckless driving is the main cause of road accidents urging motorists to take responsibility to prevent road Carnage and ensure road safety a priority to all road users especially during this Easter celebration.

 

Meanwhile Mr. Johan Grobbelaar Vivo energy Uganda managing director says road signs will provide visibility of various police highway check points that will be put in place to enforce safer road use by motorists and provide valuable information to driver and other users.
