Police have dismissed media reports that the Chief Judge Justice Bart Katureebe had been attacked by a gun man at his home over the weekend.

Addressing journalists at the Media Center in Kampala, the Police Spokesperson Asan Kasingye says the publication was false only that it’s the Judge’s security guard who shot in air after witnessing a person seated under the tree nearing Katureebe’s residence.

He adds that according to the guard, the man had a lighting touch not a gun but managed to jump and took off and later the sound of a motor cycle was heard driving off.

This follows today’s story in one of the local news papers saying that Justice Katureebe was nearly killed by yet unknown suspect in an attack happened at his Kololo based home.

Meanwhile, Kasingye cautions the media to avoid publishing stories that are not balanced especially those concerning the murder of the fallen Police Spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi until the official statement regarding the investigations is issued.

However the late Andrew Felix Kaweesi, Major Muhammad Kiggundu, the State Attorney Joan Namazi Kagezi and a number of Muslim clerics were all killed by assassins ridding on motor cycles.

In the investigations of Kaweesi’s death President Museveni instituted a special investigative team that is working along with that of Police and FBI experts to establish facts on who was behind his death.
