President Yoweri Museveni swears in for the 2021/26 political term.

Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has been sworn in as Uganda’s next President for the term starting 2021-2026 which will see him clock 40 years in power upon completion.

He was first invited to the swearing-in podium by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Justice Simon Byabakama as the president-elect owing to the outcome of the January 14^th 2021 Presidential Elections.

His Lordship the Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo also proceeded to the swearing-in Podium and administered the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of President to the president-elect.

At exactly 11.38am President Museveni took the Oath by swearing in to protect Uganda, its constitution and the social wellbeing of people of Uganda.

Various heads of state who jetted into the country starting yesterday to grace President Yoweri Museveni’s inauguration ceremony today at Kololo Independence grounds included; South Sudan’s Salva Kiir, Muhammad Abdullah Farmajo of Somalia, Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe and Burundi’s Evariste Ndayishimiye.

Others are Tanzania’s Samia Suluhu Hassan who jetted in today morning and Democratic Republic of Congo’s Felix Tshisekedi who is also the current Chairperson of the African Union.
