President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni is at his inauguration ceremony for the 6th term in office as president of Uganda.

The five year political term President Museveni attained from the January 14, 2021 elections on the National Resistance Movement NRAM Party, when he polled 6.02 million votes (58.3%) winning his main challenger among the other 10 presidential candidates Robert Kyagulanyi of National Unity Platform NUP who polled 3.4 million votes (35.08%), is leading him to the 4 decade cycle as the president of Uganda who has stayed in the same position for a longer period of time.

President Museveni came to power in 1986 at 42 years of age through a gorilla war that overthrew now the late Dr. Apollo Milton Obote and his is taking his sixth term at 76 years of age he was chanced to have after the resolved 10th parliament granted him when it amended Article 102(b) that lifted the age limit in unseen parliamentary debate of September – December 2017 that ended in fights after the army invaded parliament.

The inaugural ceremony that is currently taking place at Kololo ceremonial grounds has attracted several heads of states who are part of the 4000 invited guests to witness President Museveni’s swearing in ceremony today May 12,2021.

Besides having successfully led the country for the last 35 years at the helm of the seat of Uganda, in this political term he is gauged on a number of big challenges ahead of him among others; addressing the Ideological disorientation, interference with the private sector, under developed infrastructure, fragmented markets and market access, lack of industrialization and low value addition, underdevelopment of human resources,  agriculture and service sectors that take a center stage in supporting national growth and development.
