Three Killed in Fatal Road Crash on Kafumbe Mukasa Road

Police have confirmed the death of three people following a fatal road crash along Kafumbe Mukasa Road in Kisenyi, Kampala, today.

The crash occurred at around 11:00 a.m. and involved a Canter truck, registration number UAX 513N, whose driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle before ramming into a stage where boda-boda riders were parked.

According to police, two boda-boda riders died instantly at the scene, while a pedestrian who sustained serious injuries later succumbed, bringing the total number of fatalities to three.

Traffic Police Spokesperson, SP Michael Kananura, said the truck driver initially fled the scene following the crash but was later arrested. He is currently being held at Old Kampala Central Police Station as investigations continue.

SP Kananura has urged motorists to maintain controlled speeds, ensure their vehicles are in good mechanical condition, and exercise maximum caution, especially when driving through congested areas.

Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
