The Ministry of Health Uganda has confirmed two new cases of Ebola Virus Disease involving Ugandan health workers employed at a private health facility in Kampala.
According to a press statement issued today by Charles Olaro, both patients have been admitted to a designated Ebola treatment unit where they are currently receiving medical care.
Health authorities said response teams have already begun tracing and monitoring all contacts linked to the confirmed cases in an effort to prevent further spread of the disease.
The ministry urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report anyone showing symptoms associated with Ebola to the nearest health facility.
Officials emphasized that early detection and timely treatment improve survival chances and are critical in containing outbreaks.
The statement, however, did not disclose the source of infection or the current condition of the patients.
Ebola Virus Disease is a highly infectious viral disease transmitted through direct contact with infected bodily fluids or contaminated materials.
