Centenary Bank has strengthened its commitment to financial literacy and digital banking through an engagement with fans of Radio Sapientia during its Fans Club Day.
The bank’s presentation was delivered by Edgar Mugenyi Ginuwine, Supervisor of E-Commerce Acquiring Business, who highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering Ugandans with knowledge and tools for improved financial management.
He conveyed greetings from Centenary Bank management and staff, expressing appreciation for Radio Sapientia’s continued support and its openness to community outreach activities.
Mugenyi also emphasized the bank’s strong performance within Uganda’s banking sector, positioning it among the country’s leading commercial banks.
A key focus of the session was financial literacy training for both radio staff and fans club members. He underscored the importance of cultivating a savings culture, stressing that “savings begins now.”
He showcased the bank’s range of savings products, including Ordinary Savings Accounts, Cente Junior, Cente Volution, Cente Plus, Fixed Deposit Accounts, Joint Accounts, Superwoman Accounts, and Company Accounts, alongside its credit and loan services.
Digital banking solutions also featured prominently, with Mr. Mugenyi encouraging participants to adopt cashless payments through Gonza Pay e-wallets and CenteMobile, and explaining how users can become POS merchants.
He further highlighted the Centenary Bank Students Pocket Money Wristband, a cashless solution designed for school environments, urging schools and parents to adopt the product, which has already been rolled out in several institutions.
Additionally, he outlined the benefits of Retail and Corporate Internet Banking, agency banking services, and guidance for individuals interested in becoming agents.
On financial empowerment, he detailed a wide range of loan products including Agricultural Loans, Salary Loans, Micro Business Loans, Mortgage Loans, Home Improvement Loans, Superwoman Loans, Grow Loans, and Cente Youth Loans.
In his closing remarks, Mugenyi invited participants to join Centenary Bank, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to financial inclusion, stating that it remains “the bank that transforms lives and caters for all.”
The event underscored Centenary Bank’s ongoing efforts to promote financial literacy, expand digital banking adoption, and deliver tailored financial solutions to Ugandans.
