The Electoral Commission has announced the commencement of the voters’ register update exercise in Kalangala District ahead of the by-election for the District Woman Member of Parliament seat.
The by-election follows the death of former Woman MP Hellen Nakimuli.
According to the Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Julius Mucunguzi, the exercise officially started today and will run for three days, ending on May 13, 2026.
The update exercise follows a stakeholders’ meeting held in Kalangala District on May 8, 2026, during which the Electoral Commission unveiled the roadmap and programme for the forthcoming by-election.
Mucunguzi urged all eligible voters in the district to participate in the update of the voters’ register to avoid inconveniences during the polling process.
