Police have warned that they will soon start arresting parents for negligence over the increasing cases of child kidnappings.
This has been revealed by the Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke during the weekly Police Press Conference at the Police Headquarters at Naguru.
This comes after only last week, police rescued three juveniles in Masaka, Bushenyi and Kasese districts where cases of child kidnapping were reported only to find out that it was as a result of negligence of their parents.
Rusoke explained that sometimes parents contribute a lot to child kidnappings when they fail to execute their roles and resort to sending children or giving them tasks late in the evening like sending them to trading centers unaccompanied leaving them vulnerable to the wrong elements in society.
He has also warned Bodaboda riders who are used to transport the kidnapped children back to their respective homes after being released by kidnappers that they will be charged with abetting crime.
