Over 300 Pupils Confirmed as Christian Brothers Mark 100 Years of Ministry in Uganda

More than 300 pupils of Mugwanya Preparatory School Kabojja have received the Sacrament of Confirmation during the pre-centennial celebrations marking 100 years of the Congregation of the Catholic Religious Brothers of the Christian Instruction in Uganda.

The celebration, held today at Mugwanya Preparatory School Kabojja, was presided over by the Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere.

Archbishop Ssemogerere commended the Brothers of Christian Instruction for their outstanding contribution to education in Uganda, noting that they have nurtured generations of learners from primary school to university, producing professionals grounded in both academic excellence and Christian values.

He said the congregation’s educational mission has produced many distinguished men and women who continue to play a significant role in the country’s transformation.

The Archbishop urged the Brothers to safeguard and strengthen their educational and spiritual mission as they prepare to celebrate their centenary and beyond.

The main centennial celebrations, scheduled for later this year, are expected to be attended by several dignitaries, including His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala, who will also celebrate his 100th birthday on 15 December this year.
