Candidates aged between 25 and 29 years registered the best performance in the May 2026 Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examinations, according to results released by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
ICPAU President CPA Timothy David Ediomu announced the results at Protea Skyz Hotel in Naguru, showing that the 25–29 age group recorded 1,742 passes, accounting for 41 percent of all successful candidates.
They were followed by candidates aged 30–34 years with 1,152 passes (27 percent), while those aged 35–39 years recorded 586 passes (14 percent).
Candidates aged 18–24 achieved 520 passes (12 percent), and those aged 40 and above accounted for 271 passes (6 percent).
Speaking on behalf of Public Accountants Examinations Board Chairperson CPA Nancy Amuge Owino, ICPAU Vice President CPA Alfred Kabuchu noted that the overall CPA pass rate improved from 35.5 percent in December 2025 to 38 percent in May 2026.
A total of 6,542 candidates sat for the examinations, while 117 students successfully completed the CPA course.
