Kampala Metropolitan Police have arrested three suspects in separate operations and recovered pangas allegedly linked to criminal activities in Kampala and Kira Municipality.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the first arrest occurred on 3 June at around 3:40 a.m. during a joint security patrol in Kikoni B Zone, Wandegeya Division.
A suspect identified as Mutebi Michael, 40, was intercepted after allegedly attempting to flee from security personnel.
A search reportedly led to the recovery of a sharp panga concealed in his trousers. He was arrested, and the weapon was retained as evidence.
In a separate incident on 4 June, security personnel arrested Wamuziri Jonathan and Luyima Emmanuel Kayizi in Kira Municipality.
The duo is suspected of attacking members of the public while using a motorcycle.
Police recovered a panga allegedly hidden under the motorcycle seat, and the vehicle was impounded as part of ongoing investigations.
All suspects are currently in custody as inquiries continue.
Owoyesigyire urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities to security authorities.
