The Ministry of Works and Transport has announced the closure of the Nateete–Nakawuka Road for three months starting Friday, 15 May 2026, to facilitate the construction of drainage culverts under the ongoing road upgrade project.
In a statement issued this afternoon and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Bageya Waiswa, the ministry said the affected section stretches from the Mutundwe Road junction to the Old Masaka Road junction.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes, including Masaka Road, Entebbe Road through Kajjansi, as well as the Mutundwe and Wankulukuku connections.
According to the ministry, the works are aimed at improving drainage systems, reducing flooding and enhancing the durability of the road infrastructure.
The ministry has urged road users to cooperate with traffic management teams and follow the designated diversion routes during the construction period.
