Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) in conjunction with the Kampala City Traders Association in Uganda -KACITA-UG, Taxis and Boda Boda leaders have this Tuesday carried out security sensitization drive to alert the public on the terror threats that have seen bombs blowing out two people in three days.

 

The exercise has been under the commandant of the Police Commander Kampala Metropolitan Area, Ben Mubangizi.

 

Luke Oweyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson told the media after the drive that they have come up with such initiative to sensitize people in Kampala of the terror threat ahead of them, increased Vigilance, conscious with whoever is around them and their businesses check each and every person entering parks and their languages to  avoid harm.

 

Among places sensitized include   Bus and Taxis parks, Kikuubo trading center, Luumu Street, Kisenyi taxi park and Pioneer Mall among others a move that has been appreciated by the public and travelers.

 

In a space of two days two people had died and several have been wounded in two explosions both on a bus at Lungala in Mpigi district along Masaka road on Monday evening and at Kyanja, Komamboga in Kawempe division.

 

Both explosions are linked to the Allied Democratic Forces –ADF by the police though the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the first attack at Komamboga.
