Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Bank of Uganda Break-In

The Uganda Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the recent break-in at the Bank of Uganda, authorities announced on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

According to a police statement issued from Police Headquarters in Kampala, the suspects were apprehended on May 7 following intelligence-led operations linked to the incident, which reportedly occurred on May 4.

Police identified the suspects as 19-year-old Kule Boaz Michael, a resident of Wabigalo, and Ramadhan Kabuye, also known as Rhama, a resident of Nsambya Zone C. Both suspects are residents of Kampala City.

Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke said the two suspects are currently being held in police custody as investigations continue.

Rusoke added that detectives recovered two laptops believed to have been stolen during the break-in. He noted that the suspects will be arraigned before court in due course.

Police have not yet disclosed the circumstances surrounding the break-in or the total value of the items allegedly stolen.
