The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, has called on parents to instill discipline and strong faith values in their children in order to raise responsible and productive citizens.
Tayebwa made the remarks while serving as chief mourner at the send-off mass of the late Hellen Nakimuli at Namungoona Orthodox Church.
He described Nakimuli as a God-fearing leader whose strong foundation in faith shaped her into a dedicated and widely respected public servant, particularly for her contributions in Kalangala District.
The Leader of Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi, also paid tribute to Nakimuli, urging legislators to emulate her commitment to serving constituents and improving people’s livelihoods.
In a condolence message delivered on his behalf, the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, through Israel Kazibwe Kitooke, extended sympathies to the bereaved family and commended Nakimuli for her service to the Buganda Kingdom.
The Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Dr Chris Baryomunsi, who represented the government, praised Nakimuli’s dedication to development and hard work.
He also encouraged young people to use social media responsibly for personal growth and national development.
Nakimuli was laid to rest on Thursday in Luwero District. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
