Christians have been challenged to reflect on the beauty of the family, the foundation of both society and the Catholic Church.
During celebrations marking the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary, Msgr. Charles Kasibante urged Ugandans to “borrow a leaf from Saint Joseph, who loved his family and worked tirelessly for its wellbeing.”
Leading the thanksgiving Mass at the Child Welfare and Adoption Society’s Nsambya Baby’s Home today, on the feast of their patron saint, Msgr. Kasibante called on the public to resist being misled by those who undermine the family due to uncertainty and current economic hardships.
He emphasized that Saint Joseph serves as a living example of trust, patience, and dedication to God, overcoming all challenges to protect his family.
“Saint Joseph reminds the faithful that true leadership lies in humility—being understanding, loving, and selfless within the family, despite all odds,” he said.
The theme of the celebration was “God’s Love and Care is Unlimited.”
The Child Welfare and Adoption Society, led by Rev. Sr. Sarah Naamala, oversees three homes: Nsambya Baby’s Home, Kankobe Children’s Home, and Nateete Community.
Together, they care for over 200 abandoned children, including babies, infants, and teenagers.
