Second Deputy Katikkiro and Minister for Finance, Investments, Planning, and Economic Development, Ow’ekitiibwa Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa

Buganda Kingdom has raised Shs 1.953 billion from the Kabaka’s subjects through the ongoing Luwalo Lwaffe mobilization campaign for 2025, aimed at supporting the Kingdom’s development programmes.

The collections represent a 16 percent increase compared to 2024, when Shs 1.686 billion was raised for the same initiative.

The update was presented by the Second Deputy Katikkiro and Minister for Finance, Investments, Planning, and Economic Development, Ow’ekitiibwa Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, while delivering a report on the Luwalo Lwaffe programme to the Buganda Lukiiko at Bulange, Mengo.

According to the report, Kyadondo County emerged as the top contributor, followed by Buddu County, with Busiro County ranking third among the participating counties.

Waggwa Nsibirwa attributed the improved performance of the programme to several factors, including transparency in operations, dedicated service delivery, and exemplary leadership within the Kabaka’s government.

He noted that the funds collected have been invested in key development projects across the Kingdom, such as the construction of royal hospitals and nursery schools, support for the Mwanyi Terimba programme, and the completion of the Muzibu Azaala Mpanga (Kasubi Tombs) in Kampala, among other initiatives.
