As the election approaches, Francis Lubega, a former parliamentary reporter, has promised to improve the lives of single mothers and address key community needs in Makindye East.
Speaking at campaign rallies, Lubega highlighted his personal connection to the issue, noting that having been raised by a single mother, he is deeply committed to supporting this demographic.
Among his key proposals is the establishment of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) specifically for single mothers.
These cooperatives would provide access to financial resources, enabling them to start or expand businesses and improve their livelihoods.
Lubega also emphasized his commitment to enhancing healthcare access in Makindye East, stating that he would advocate for the construction or improvement of health facilities to ensure better services for the community.
To address youth unemployment, he proposed lobbying for partnerships with bodaboda companies to provide affordable motorcycle loans for riders, creating new employment opportunities.
Lubega further indicated that he intends to be a strong voice for the people of Makindye East once he becomes a member of parliment, underscoring his dedication to representing the community’s interests.
