NRM Chairpersons Meet Ahead of Delegates Conference

The National Resistance Movement district chairpersons have convened at the party headquarters for the National Conference Harmonization meeting, ahead of the delegates’ conference scheduled for the 27th and 28th of September at Kololo Independence Grounds.

The meeting was presided over by the party’s Secretary General, Richard Todwong, who announced that the Central Executive Committee (CEC will tomorrow, 20th August, begin vetting all candidates vying for various positions.

This process will run until 22nd September.

Todwong explained that accreditation of delegates at the National Executive Committee level will take place on 22nd September at the Nakawa Innovation Hub, followed by accreditation for Special Interest Groups youths, older persons, and workers on 23rd September, ahead of their conference slated for the 26th.

Accreditation for all delegates to the main conference will also take place on 26th September.

The Secretary General cautioned delegates that no one will be accredited for more than one position, and non-delegates will not be allowed access.

He further advised candidates for CEC positions to select campaign agents from among accredited delegates, as others will not be permitted to enter.

Today’s meeting also marked the official unveiling of the campaign portrait of the party’s flag bearer, President Yoweri Museveni, for the 2026 presidential race, along with the theme that will guide the NRM party for the 2026–2031 term.
