Priests are warned against opportunists and secularism in the society today where most people nolonger give God his due respect.
Most people have become self seekers for selfish gains to the extent of targeting to steal from the priests and the church.
Character assassination and mudslinging of one another is common today, social, political and economic challenges too pose a challenge to the priestly service. However a Priest should not lose track with God’s providence.
This was contained in the Homily given by Fr. Jude Kyekulidde from St. Cyprian Kawanda Parish during the thanks giving mass for Rev. Fr. Bernard Mukiibi the newly ordained in Kampala Archdiocese at St. Bruno Sserunkuma Parish Kasenge in Wakiso District today 10th August 2025.
Fr. Kyekulidde also warned the newly ordained priests against the misuse of social media where priests and religious are not exceptional.
He said Its God’s grace that one is chosen among many to be ordained a priest. Priesthood brings honour, he however challenged Fr. Mukiibi to always be prepared to evangelise God’s people with love.
Rev. Fr. Bernard Mukiibi is one of the 24 newly ordained Priests who were ordained on Saturday 9th August 2025 at Rubaga Cathedral by His Grace Paul Ssemogerere the Archbishop of Kampala.
Rev. Fr. Mukiibi co-celebrated his thanksgiving mass with among others Priests Msgr. Rogers Kabuye Mukasa the vicar general Kampala Archdiocese, Msgr. Lawrence Kanyike the Parish Priest of Kyengera Parish one of the 74 parishes from where St. Bruno Sserunkuma Parish Kasenge was officially curved from in June this Year.
