Prince Nakibinge urges security reform and justice ahead of elections

Prince Dr. Kassim Nakibinge, the Titular Head of Muslims at Kibuli, has condemned the conduct of some security officers, particularly in their enforcement of law and order.

He called for humane treatment by security agencies, especially as the country approaches general elections, urging their leaders to reflect deeply and uphold the law with integrity.

Speaking at his residence in Kibuli during an Eid al-Adha luncheon, Prince Nakibinge appealed to President Yoweri Museveni to acknowledge governance shortcomings and use this moment to implement meaningful reforms.

He also called for the release of individuals he believes are being unjustly detained.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Muhamad Shaban Galabuzi, Supreme Mufti of the Kibuli-based Muslim faction, stressed the importance of addressing domestic violence and encouraged Muslims to actively seek leadership roles at all levels.

Kampala Lord Mayor Ssalongo Haji Erias Lukwago, who also attended the luncheon, raised concerns about the state of Uganda’s justice system, citing increasing bias and oppressive legal practices.

He called for urgent reforms to restore public confidence.
