Parliament Mourns Former Iganga Woman MP Olivia Kabaale

Parliament has paid tribute to former Iganga District Woman Member of Parliament Olivia Kabaale, who passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026, and pledged Shs10 million towards her burial expenses.

Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oboth-Oboth announced the financial contribution while informing Members of Parliament about the death of the former legislator, who served during the Ninth Parliament.

Kabaale is scheduled to be laid to rest on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Bugwere District.

While conveying Parliament’s condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Iganga and Bugwere districts, Speaker Oboth-Oboth led Members of Parliament in observing a moment of silence in honour of the late legislator.

Parliament’s contribution is intended to support the family in meeting burial arrangements as the country joins them in mourning the former representative.
