Police have urged the public to observe movement restrictions during the upcoming National Cleaning Day, warning against confrontations with security officers deployed to enforce the exercise.
Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke said security personnel would be formally deployed on Saturday to support the nationwide cleaning initiative spearheaded by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
Rusoke noted that the guidelines issued by the Office of the Prime Minister remain in force, including restrictions on movement between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
He added that exemptions granted to specific categories of people would remain unchanged, urging the public to familiarise themselves with the guidelines before the exercise.
The police spokesperson advised members of the public to plan their journeys and other activities in advance to avoid inconveniences during the restricted hours.
National Cleaning Day is observed on the last Saturday of every month and is intended to promote cleanliness, improve sanitation and encourage communities to take greater responsibility for their surroundings.
