Police have said they have no information on the whereabouts of Baba TV journalist Eria Jengo, who has been missing for nearly three weeks.

Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists during the Monday police press briefing at Police Headquarters in Naguru.

Jengo’s family last week petitioned the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), seeking its intervention in efforts to establish his whereabouts.

Jengo’s mother, Katalina Nalubanjwa, and her husband, Koprian Ssaka, travelled from Nakaseke to Kampala to submit the petition. They were accompanied by leaders of the Uganda Journalists Association.

The family said Jengo’s disappearance has caused them distress, particularly because he was supporting the family and helping provide for his younger siblings.

His mother has appealed to President Yoweri Museveni to intervene and help secure her son’s return.

Police have not provided further details about the investigations into Jengo’s disappearance.
