The City Hall Chief Magistrate’s Court has further adjourned the case in which 21-year-old Patricia Turindwamukama is accused of murdering her friend, Jovia Namuwalya, to October 15, 2026.

Turindwamukama, also known as Rose, a resident of Mukalazi Zone in Bukoto Parish, Nakawa Division, appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Nicholas Aisu today.

She is facing charges of murder and robbery in connection with the death of Namuwalya.

Prosecution alleges that Turindwamukama murdered Namuwalya using a knife on August 20, 2026.

She is also accused of allegedly stealing Namuwalya’s iPhone 12 Pro Max, valued at Shs2 million, a handbag, Shs150,000 in cash, clothes worth Shs200,000 and a passport.

During today’s proceedings, the court was informed that investigations into the matter were still ongoing and that more time was required to complete them.

Magistrate Nicholas Aisu subsequently adjourned the case to October 15.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the court session, the family of the late Namuwalya, led by her mother, Judith Nassolo, called for justice for their daughter.

Nassolo said the family has been spending significant amounts of money travelling from Bukomansimbi to attend court proceedings, only for the matter to be repeatedly adjourned.

She described her daughter as an innocent and kind person, saying her kindness may have contributed to the circumstances surrounding her death.

Nassolo also appealed to religious leaders to remember the family in their prayers as they continue to seek justice and cope with the loss.
