Nine members of the opposition Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) could face disciplinary action, including possible dismissal from the party, over alleged misconduct and violations of the UPC Constitution.
The party’s Head of Media and Communications, Faizo Muzeyi, disclosed this while speaking to the media at the UPC headquarters in Kampala.
Muzeyi identified the members as Enap Adim Denis, Jack Kabusu, Natukunda Nawume Aisha, Magero Emmanuel Were, Hon. Achola Suzan, Ongom Chris, Ogwal Adyebo Alex, Ewal George and Babirye Josephine, among others.
He alleges that the members are accused of forging party letterheads, stamps and seals, as well as making false representations in matters concerning the party.
Muzeyi said the cases are currently before the UPC National Disciplinary Committee, which is sitting at Garden Inn Hotel in Lira City to hear the allegations against the accused members.
He said the accused will be subjected to the party’s disciplinary process and, if found guilty, could face sanctions including dismissal from UPC.
Muzeyi said the disciplinary proceedings are being conducted in accordance with the UPC Constitution of 2008, as amended, and the party’s Rules of Procedure.
